Cnoc Cailean overlooking Ardmair Bay, Isle Martin and The Summer Isles with spectacular views.
DESCRIPTION
Enjoying an enviable location overlooking Ardmair Bay with views across Loch Kanaird to Ben Mhor Coigach, Cnoc Cailean stands in an open area approached by a private road, just 200 metres from the shingle beach.
The name is Gaelic for Colin's Hill, legend has it that Colin - a local gentleman who lived close by - used to sit on the rock in front of the house and admire the views to sea. Like us he must have truly enjoyed the natural beauty of the magnificent West Highland Coast.
Cnoc Cailean recently had an exciting major refurbishment; immense detail went into the design of the new layout to ensure guests enjoy a user-friendly home, not only the wide doorways and reachable light switches but sliding doors that disappear into the wall and kitchen drawers for easy reach of crockery.
The inviting sitting room with James Hawkins art, warm wood burning stove and comfy sofas make it the heart of the home, close the curtains and be cosy or relax and take in the view. Framed by enormous sliding glass doors which open to the decking, you could sit all day and watch an ever changing scene, nearly all rooms benefit from stunning panoramas of the bay.
The ground floor is suitable for wheelchair access and a wet room styled bathroom designed for less able guests makes Cnoc Cailean an appropriate holiday home for visitors with carers, but please check with us before booking if you have any special requirements. All bedrooms are ensuite and enjoy the stunning scenery from their windows.
Boats in Ardmair Bay, porpoises playing in the waves and sunny days giving way to beautiful sunsets, starry nights and Northern Lights. The view is nothing less than spectacular! What more could you wish for?
Watch the ferry sail to Stornoway or climb the nearby hills, explore the rugged coastline to Rhue lighthouse, go bouldering on the beach, look for dolphins in the bay, skim stones, cycle the single track roads, whatever your choice Cnoc Cailean is the place to stay.
